Remembering Rita Wright (1963 - 2024)

Rita was born in the village of Abbots Langley, and it was here, at home, where her remarkable journey began in 1963. Rita dedicated much of her professional life to Marks and Spencer, climbing the ranks to become a beloved HR Manager for several stores—a role she cherished deeply.

A passionate gardener, Rita had an innate love for the vibrant and the beautiful, with a particular fondness for geraniums. Her garden was her sanctuary, a place where she nurtured every plant with love and care, ensuring it was as colourful and lively as her personality.

Rita’s love for reading was insatiable. Whether curled up with a good book or exploring new stories through her Kindle and Audible she was forever reading. Her adventurous spirit extended beyond books. Rita was an ardent traveller with her husband Steve, with Portugal being her favourite retreat, though her curiosity and zest for life took her to many corners of the world.

Fashion was another of Rita’s passions. Known for her impeccable style, she adored clothing—especially anything with leopard print! Rita's flair for fashion was matched by her signature bright red nails, always perfectly done, adding an extra sparkle to her distinctive appearance.

Rita’s laughter was infectious, her sense of humour wicked, and her wit sharp until the very end. She was the heart of humour in any gathering, often heard before seen, and her laughter was a beacon of joy for all who knew her.

Driving was yet another joy in Rita’s life. Over the years, she owned cars that turned heads, from stylish convertibles to her sporty little red Ford Fiesta, reflecting her vibrant taste and spirit.

Rita's legacy is one of joy, colour, and a life embraced with enthusiasm. She made a lasting impression on everyone she met, bringing laughter and brightness wherever she went—a true light in the lives of her family and friends.
